Character Information
Character Name: Kenny McCormick
Fandom: South Park

Character History: During the first five seasons, Kenny dies once an episode minus the first Mr. Hankey Christmas Special. Despite Kenny dying so often no one seemed to remember and is alive again the next episode. This was Kenny's cycle of life from seasons one until season three. During the South Park movie, which takes place between seasons three and four, Kenny died early on on a dare to try and light a fart on fire. He succeeded and set himself on fire at the same time. He was taken to the hospital. The doctors didn't end up saving him. They replaced his heart with a baked potato. Kenny woke up and was alive long enough for the doctor to tell him this before his chest exploded and he died. Kenny's soul almost ascended to heaven but he was cast down to hell for skipping Church and being a sinner. Kenny spent the rest of the movie in hell. He discovered Satan and Saddam Hussein were lovers during this time. Kenny tried to help Satan break up with the abusive Saddam but it didn't work. It was during his time in Hell Kenny also overheard the prophecy that if Terrance and Phillip were killed in America that Satan would rise to rule the world. He tried to warn Cartman twice of this but both times Cartman was too scared of Kenny's ghost to really listen. In the end, Satan arrived on Earth but due to Saddam belittling him in front of the humans and Cartman kicking the crap out of Saddam, Satan finally had enough. He cast Saddam back into Hell and the dictator died. Kenny was thanked by Satan for helping him find his strength to leave his abusive lover. Due to this, he gave Kenny one wish and Kenny wished everything was normal again. This meant he still had to die but he accepted his fate. He was allowed into Heaven for a short time, until he again appeared in his room.

For the rest of season four and five, he returned to his cycle as the running gag character. It isn't until the last episode of season five where Kenny died of a muscular degenerative disease that he died for any long period of time. He stayed dead the whole of season six in fact. He didn't return until the next Christmas Special. Despite how affected all of his friends were by his death, none of them remembered. They simply welcomed him back and asked where he had been. From that Christmas on, Kenny didn't die as often. Due to this, Kenny didn't develop much as a character. He was stuck being the butt of a running joke and played relatively small rolls in the adventures of his friends and himself ever since.

Some of Kenny's biggest character development occurs starting season thirteen. It is in this season we first see Mysterion, a hero the entire city loves over Cartman's The Coon. Mysterion stops crimes and reports the wrongdoings of others to the police, allowing them to make the arrests. He is forced to unmask himself in the city due to The Coon teaming up with Professor Chaos and General Disarray. Cartman convinced Mysterion that unless he unmask himself, more terrorists like Professor Chaos would come to find out his identity. So at a press conference, Mysterion removed his mask. Later in season fourteen in the Raise of Cthulhu arc that Kenny finally addressed his inability to die. Mysterion began to have hints to his immortality and that it was connected to a cult that worship Cthulhu. This compounded with his every growing frustrations with dying and no one remembering. Mysterion was able to confront Cthulhu and hoped the monster would kill him as he learned from the Goth Kids that only an immortal and kill another immortal. Unfortunately, The Coon was able to draw Cthulhu away from Mysterion and stop the Old One from killing Mysterion. Immediately after Cthulhu was defeated by a real superhero called Mint-Berry Crunch and banished back to his dimension of insanity. This caused Mysterion to become apathetic to his own immortality, so much so he shot himself into the head to go home rather than simply walking there.

Mysterion appeared later in season fifteen when he and his siblings were sent away to foster care. This time, Mysterion took on the role of protector of his little sister, Karen. It was revealed at this time that Kenny had been using his identity as Mysterion to protect Karen for a while and comfort her. Karen even calls Mysterion her guardian angel. Mysterion was able to get the foster parents arrested with some help from Cartman and they were returned to their parents.

Kenny first became Lady McCormick for Eric's fantasy game during the holiday season in season 17. However, Kenny actually wanted to be a princess and not just a lady. When Cartman refused to allow Kenny to play the role he wanted to and turned on him and joined Stan. Princess Kenny was born as the leader of the PS4 army. She began to build an army of kids to fight the war of Black Friday so that they could all gain PS4s. During the conflict, the President of Sony was convinced to try and help Kenny's army fight back against the B-Box One army. It was at during this adventure that the President of Sony gave Kenny a medallion that turned Princess Kenny into a Japanese Magical Princess. Princess Kenny used her powers to foil Cartman's attempts to keep PS4s out of the country. In the end, it came down to a triple betrayal at the Red Robin Wedding. This lead to a death brawl between Bill Gates and the President of Sony. Bill Gates won and everyone got PS4s.

Kenny is still around, helping his friends and just being himself. Time goes on and strange things keep happening in South Park. Strange small mountain town things and he keeps dying. The cycle goes on.

Character Personality: Kenny McCormick is a ten year old boy and seems to be just that most of the time. At least he is when he's wearing his parka. Kenny is like most ten year old boys in that he's immature, loves boyish and manly things, enjoys hanging out with his friends, jokes about farts and poop, and is a spitfire. He also has the swearing vocabulary of a sailor or a Canadian comedian. He is a poor boy and finds joy in simple things like; Nascar, video games, weapons, and other naughty hobbies. Kenny has more complexity he only shows when he takes off his parka, his proverbial armor. He deals with his curse of never staying dead by growing a tough shell and compartmentalising his feelings into his two personas; Princess Kenny and Mysterion.

As Kenny in the parka, Kenny is a muffled and sometimes hard to understand child. He gets excited for things he likes and is quick to be a bit judgmental as most 10 year old boys are. He has a potty mouth on him but it can be hard to catch unless you know how to understand his muffled form of speech. In a sense, this is Kenny's normal form. He is most commonly in his parka and it is how everyone knows him. Like this Kenny seems to be a carefree child who just enjoys being with his friends. He can be rather apathetic about things however, such as death. Kenny is a bit more mature than his friends in some aspects, mostly his view on girls. He is quite knowledgeable, possibly being the smartest kid in his class. Still, he acts immature and is quick to fall into addictive tendencies, like the time he grew addicted to getting high off cat pee and died or the time he died of auto-erotic axphisation because he wanted to try it. It may be due in part to his always coming back when he dies. Due to this, he is willing to take more risks and enjoy life, as long as he is currently living it. He's grown apathetic to his own deaths when he's Kenny. He finds them now to be an agonizing irritation than of any real concern.

As Princess Kenny, Kenny takes on a much more feminine approach yet is also more cunning. It was as Princess Kenny that she became princess of the PS4 legions of South Park and rallied a large Games of Thrones inspired army to take on Cartmen's X-Box One army in the Battle of Black Friday. It wasn't until Kenny joined the side of the PS4 that they began to grow in number. This was due to Kenny's charisma and calculating recruitment of other kids when she took over. As Princess Kenny, Kenny isn't against using treachery to get what she wants. As was the case when she betrayed Cartmen at the Red Robin Wedding and was going to lock his army up in the restaurant while the rest of her army stormed the mall for PS4s. Princess Kenny isn't the type to take prisoners and has an affinity with animals, such as her ability to sing and call upon rats and even summon a Unicorn. Though these animals may also have a tendency to kill her when summoned but that is just part of Kenny's bad luck it seems.

As Mysterion, Kenny speaks with a gruff voice and becomes Batman like. It is as Mysterion that his intelligence becomes the most visible as well as his darker emotions. It is as Mysterion that Kenny talks about his inability to die and his anger and frustration towards it. It is also as Mysterion he displays the most apathy as at one point he shoots himself in the head to go home rather than walk. Mysterion is tough but a leader and someone who fights to uphold good and justice at all costs. He even stared down Cthultu and demanded the Old One bring back his friends in exchange for his life and hopefully his final death. Despite not getting what he wanted, he still appeared as Mysterion to fight and protect the innocent, like his little sister. Mysterion is the proactive and anger in Kenny that doesn't always come out.

Overall Kenny is a 10 year old boy who has died a total of 98 times. Each time he dies in a different way and each time he returns to life. He copes as a young child does and as a consequence of that and having friends like he does, Kenny is rather special. He enjoys life and is a rather happy child around others. At the same time, he has many deeper feeling he keeps hidden and unleashes in the alter egos he's created for himself. Mysterion is probably his biggest release for pent up rage and emotions, when he isn't trying to assassinate Cartman for ruining NASCAR. The boy understands suffering and pain but also joy and happiness. It makes him interesting and rather well rounded, all things considered.

Powers and Abilities: Kenny has an assortment of skills and a few powers. To more easily go over these, I've split them up as to what he shows he can do as Kenny, as Princess Kenny, and as Mysterion.

As Kenny he has shown himself to be rather smart or at least worldly. He knows most of the things his friends don't, especially in the area of adult topics. He is often the one who tries to explain things like the meaning of the word fingerbang to his friends, though they seldom believe him. It's as Kenny that we see him able to throw ninja stars correctly, as he uses one to poke out one of Butters' eyes. Kenny has been being able to do backflips as well as jumping onto a speeding Nascar on a track. He is the most capable of his group of friends with a weapon and the most agile.

As Princess Kenny, he shows an ability to tame animals. He has a pet rat in the show. In the video game; Stick of Truth, Princess Kenny is able to do three super attacks. The first is a kiss that causes the status effect gross out when Princess Kenny kisses someone. This often comes with a rainbow that appears over their head with the name of a disease over it. The best cause for this is probably that Kenny's breath actually stinks so bad it makes the other kids vomit. The princess is also able to sing and summon a pack of rats that, if they don't kill Kenny, will swarm his enemies as a rat tidal wave and cause the bleeding status effect. Princess Kenny's last attack is summoning a Unicorn to trample over his enemies, though it can also impale him through the head on accident. Princess Kenny uses a bow and arrow as a weapon and is shown to do back flips and trick shooting when attacking.

As Mysterion, Kenny shows he may be the smartest kid in class. He is very much the Batman of the group. He is the one mostly doing investigation work when he isn't brooding over something. He's intelligent enough to figure out their wrecked hideout wasn't Cartman's fault but someone looking for something by simple observing the pattern of destruction. It's as Mysterion that Kenny also shows skills at hand to hand combat. He takes down foes quickly and by hitting vulnerable stops quickly. He doesn't play with an enemy. He hits them where it hurts and can apparently hit hard as he has caused black eyes with a single kick or punch.

Kenny's one super power is he cannot die. Not permanently, anyway. He has died 103 times so far and always comes back. Sometimes it takes a while but most of the time it is the next day. Also anyone who had knowledge of his death does not remember it when he comes to life again. All Kenny remembers is waking up in his bed whenever he returns to life. This is a curse he was born with and something that appears to be unstoppable. No matter what the boy does, he continues to die and come back. Though as of late in the show he has died less and less but death is always around the corner for him.

[Kenny starts the video and all anyone sees is orange. Bright fucking orange. He pulls back to show he's in Eden's pool area and their hot tub. He waves to the camera.]

Mmmm mmm! Mmmm mmm mmm mmmmm mmmm mmmm. Mmm mmm hmmm mmmm mmmm mmmmm mmmm. Mmmmm~!

Translation: Hi Anne! I want you to come over. We have a hot tub here, see! Please~!

[He walks off screen and comes back with a boombox plugged into an extension cord. He turns on the music and starts dancing. He runs around the hot tub. He clearly wants someone to come hang out with him in the hot tub and listen to music. That is until he trips. His foot catches the cord and he tosses up the boombox. He falls into the water and cries out. He tries to swim to the edge. Unfortunately the boombox hits the water before he can escape. Electricity surges through the water. Kenny twitches and screams in pain until he stops moving. He floats on top of the water, dead.

So much for that plan.]

Third Person:

Nautilus was an assortment of oddities and impossibilities. A world where reality could be controlled by one's very thoughts. How could such a strange and wondrous place exist? How could he have never heard of this place with all of the strange adventures he's experienced? Yet this place escaped his notice and everyone's in all the other worlds they came from. No one knew about this place when they arrived. Some adjusted better than others. Waking up in a new world would cause confusion and anger. It was clearly who were comfortable in their world or those who had never experienced other worlds. It wasn't difficult for him to wrap his head around this place. His mind took in the information easily. This wasn't so strange. He'd been to the city that fell from the stars and sank below the sea. He had been condemned to Hell and allowed into Heaven.

This city had a lot to offer in the form of change. He was making friends so easily here. Despite people finding his use of language as excessive or overly vulgar. He'd talk however the hell he wanted. No one here was going to control him. No one back home would, no one here would either. Still, it was nice having clean clothes. He had more than one parka now. He had clean socks and warm food. Actual food. Not pop-tarts and frozen waffles every night. His stomach almost couldn't handle it at first. He ate too much and his stomach hurt. He dug in every night, until he finally learned to slow down. No one was going to steal his food here. He could be safe here. It was an experience he never thought he would have. Not until he was older but even then he didn't have much hope. He's rather any money or resources go to Karen. She deserved to have a chance to make something of herself. Kevin knew it and so did he. Maybe here he could have something. He could let himself have something.

He missed his friends. He missed Kyle, Stan, Butters, Clyde, Craig, and even Cartman. Perhaps that was the one thing this world was missing. They weren't here to experience everything with him. He could see them having fun here. The fatass would love the Western District. Red and desolate. Perfect for his dreams of conquest and shit. Stan and Kyle would make friends here fast. Clyde could live out of the GothDonald's and Craig would still be Craig, flipping people off on the network. It was a little lonely without them but he made friends. He even got to talk to THE Darth Vader. Real life Darth Vader! It was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Something no one else could actually boast. They'd be so jealous when they arrived. If they arrived. Time would tell.

Still, despite all of the change, some things never did. He still couldn't die. True, no one here could but it was different for him. He didn't come back in a week. He came back in a day. Everyone remembered everyone else's deaths, except his own. No one remembered when he died on the network or died right in front of them. No one would remember any of it. So much change but one thing stayed the same. Kenny wasn't sure if it was a blessing or just part of the curse. He'd gotten so used to it now, he wasn't sure. Perhaps that was the saddest part. He wasn't sure how he would feel if he died like everyone else. Maybe it would be better if others could remember. At least then they could comfort him and make him feel better, like they did for each other. That wasn't in the cards though. It never would be.

Kenny looked up from his journal and out the window. He had been told maybe keeping one would be good for him. Yet all he could write down was what he did each day and what he ate. Nothing else. No more detail than what was necessary. He didn't want to risk someone getting a hold of it and knowing too much. His true thoughts stayed just that. They stayed thoughts in his head and were never spoken aloud. The sun was setting. Kenny closed the book and stood up. He walked to his closet and opened the door. He had slipped his dresser into his closet so he'd have as much room as possible. He opened the top left drawer. Inside was his hero costume. It had taken time to make it again but it was complete. As soon as the sun went down, Kenny McCormick would disappear.

Tonight, the city would meet Mysterion.
